Y'shtola is a Miqo'te of the Seekers of the Sun with a light brown skin and brown facial markings, light teal eyes, and white hair with two frontal pigtails tied with rings. She dresses in a white dalmatica with silver patterns, blue trousers and black ankle boots. She wears a visual device on her neck that allows her to analyze aetherial activities in the environment. She has the tattoo of the Circle of Knowing on her neck. She wields a one-handed conjurer wand which resembles a tree branch.

In Heavensward, her eyes turn pale white as a consequence of using a forbidden spell rendering her physically blind. Y'shtola wears a new outfit provided by Tataru Taru, a long-sleeved white top with extended sides and back and short black shorts, black thigh-high boots and a black bolero shrug over her shoulders.
Personality
Y'shtola is labeled as "Cultured Conjurer," a moniker that reflects her calm and composure. She is a taciturn, well-spoken voice of reason even alongside her equally scholarly peers among the Scions of the Seventh Dawn, providing sharp, relevant insight that hardly ever strays from the matter at hand. This is a contrast to Thancred Waters, who frequently flings charismatic and flamboyant one-liners to be deflected by her stoicism.
Y'shtola's gall comes out when her patience has been tried, or as a counter to others' bold, irrelevant or confrontational comments. She derives some of this audacity from her former master, Matoya, the two exchanging quips and subtle insults.
Y'shtola has a cultured and refined diction, which although grounded enough to differentiate her from the theatrical likes of Urianger Augurelt, grants an air of wisdom to the Conjurer.
Background
From a young age, Y'shtola showed a tremendous talent with magic, and was sent for tutelage to the famous Archon Matoya at the age of seven. This displeased Matoya, who thought it little more than a chore passed onto her by her fellow Archons. In order to rid herself of the girl, she devised a particularly strict regimen, and forced it upon Y'shtola. However, the Seeker of the Sun is unyielding by nature, and struggled through, stoically continuing where an adult would have given up. Perhaps Matoya recognized something of herself in the stubborn girl, for in time the Archon began to treat "Shtola" properly as her student. After a decade spent in Matoya's Cave, Y'shtola emerged and took her place amongst the other Archons as an expert in the arcane arts.
The hands of time ever stopped at twenty and three, Y'shtola has, during her time as an Archon, forged a special bond with Ydaโone out of necessity, considering the lack of refinement displayed by the young firebrand. The Archon is also known to have a great collection of footwear, and an unexplainable fear of aureliae.
Truthseeker

Wishing to gift Y'shtola a weapon worthy of its bearer, Tataru procured a length of rare petrified wood and commissioned renowned conjurer E-Sumi-Yan with the creation of a staff to rival any and all the realm has seen. After purifying the branch in the crystal-clear waters of a Twelveswood stream, Brother E-Sumi-Yan sanctified it in the presence of the elementals, thus earning the beings' blessing. By report, Truthseeker requires great skill to wield, but grants great power to those who can.
